Iranian Experts Overhaul 4 Power Plants with Home-Made Parts
The Iran-made parts are at present being used in Jahrom combined cycle power plant, and Abadan, Yazd and Khorramshahr power plants.
“Our company is active in the two sectors of manufacturing and supplying power plant parts and monitoring the status of power plant, petrochemical and automobile industries, and one of the products is diesel nozzle for gas turbine combustion chamber,” said Ali Ahmadi Raad, a research and development expert of the knowledge-based company.
Noting that his company produces spare parts for all types of Siemens, General Electric and Hitachi gas turbines available in Iran, he said, “The design and manufacturing of these parts is carried out in this company. In the past, these parts were imported from abroad by some companies, and we managed to produce these parts by using ultra-advanced alloys and at a cost of one-fifth to one-tenth of the foreign sample.”
Ahmadi Raad explained that manufacturing and installing various tools for power plants, like training devices, rotor overhaul towers, and the supply or manufacturing of various gas and steam turbine overhaul parts, and industrial cooperation and consulting to upgrade the PM system of the power plant with new CM techniques are other fields of activities of the company.
In a relevant development in December, Iranian researchers at another knowledge-based company had also designed and made heating equipment (steam boilers or hot water boilers) to meet the needs of power plants and other industries.
“Our company produces heating equipment (steam boilers and hot water boilers), converters, recuperators and power plant equipment, oil and gas systems and strategic systems for steel industries and downstream industries like construction industries, hospitals, etc.,” said Morteza Hosseinzadeh, the head of research and development (R&D) department of the knowledge-based company.
“The products of our company are designed for domestic needs and exports to the CIS countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, etc.) and neighboring states like Iraq and Afghanistan,” he added.
“For the first time, we introduced the condensing boiler as a knowledge-based product that enjoyed high efficiency eight years ago,” Hosseinzadeh said, adding that the efficiency of normal boilers is 84% to 85% while the condensing boiler has an efficiency of 96% to 98%.
“Another product is a hot water boiler, which increases the efficiency of ordinary boilers with special pipes, and the weight of the boiler has been reduced,” he explained.
