Dariush Salempour, head of the Non-Tropical Fruit Department at Iran’s Ministry of Agriculture, said approximately 100,000 tons of pistachios were exported between March 21 and December 22, 2025. The shipments included pistachios in shell, green pistachio kernels, and other related products, with destinations spanning Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.

Salempour noted that 18 European Union member states were among the importing countries. Key markets also included Turkey, India, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, and China.

Citing figures from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), he confirmed that the export volumes align with official customs data.

Looking back at last year’s performance, Salempour added that Iran exported more than 175,000 tons of pistachios in 2024, generating revenues of around $1.7 billion, underscoring the crop’s continued importance to the country’s non-oil exports.
