Iranian Company Combines Art with Industry to Create Wooden Products
“Observation of activities in areas such as mosaic, resin work, and burnishing made me think of creating a space to carry out multiple activities simultaneously,” Hassan Rahgozar, the founder of the company stationed at the incubator center of the Islamic Azad University’s Shiraz branch, told ANA.
“The goal was to create an artistic combination of wood with other materials like glass, pottery, ceramics, resin, and leather to expand the scope of art and prevent artists from operating in isolation,” he added.
“The company's products and services meet the need for functional and beautiful works of art in homes, offices, and gifts, including rustic kitchenware and composite sculptures. Nationally, it addresses the need for entrepreneurship, discovering raw talent in students, vocational training, developing crafts, and exporting,” Rahgozar said.
In a relevant development in October, Ali Kazzemi Tabrizi, a PhD graduate in Natural Resources in the field of wood and paper products from Islamic Azad University’s Science and Research branch in Tehran could achieve the know-how to produce biodegradable wood plastic from the natural resources in Iran.
“One of my important research areas is identifying and developing a new tree from the poplar family that was hybridized by an Iranian scientist and has unique characteristics. This tree can be cultivated throughout Iran,” Kazzemi Tabrizi said.
“We produced three products from the wood of this tree; paper, compressed wood board, and plastic wood. With its rapid growth, this tree is highly adaptable to Iranian climatic conditions, and the products obtained from this tree also meet the necessary standards,” he added.
Kazzemi Tabrizi noted that so far, nearly 10,000 trees of this kind have been planted in different regions of Iran, adding that its capability to combat desertification and provide raw materials for the wood and paper industries has been proven.
