Iranian Knowledge-Based Firm Indigenizes Different Types of CNC Machines
“In our company, we operate in the field of CNC machinery manufacturing industry in various fields. At present, we have managed to produce nearly 80 models of CNC machines in seven different industrial categories,” said Seyed Reza Mousavi, the managing-director of the knowledge-based company.
“Our production machines are used in wood industry, metal cutting industry, stone and glass industry. For instance, in the wood industry, we have produced a CNC lathe that can turn and engrave sofa legs or stair railings,” he added.
Elaborating on the performance of the CNC wood engraving machine of the company, Mousavi said, “These machines, using advanced and up-to-date features and capabilities, can design and produce all types of furniture, decoration, bed sets, doors, windows, cabinets, etc. in the shortest possible time.” “Another advantage of CNC engraving and cutting machines is the reduction of waste and mass production,” he added.
A CNC machine is the automated control of machining tools (such as drills, lathes, mills, grinders, routers and 3D printers) by means of a computer.
A CNC machine processes a piece of material (metal, plastic, wood, ceramic, or composite) to meet specifications by following coded programmed instructions and without a manual operator directly controlling the machining operation.
In a relevant development in February, a technological company in Iran had succeeded in manufacturing a special desktop CNC machine for cutting foam sheets with less crumbs and chips.
"CNC foam cutting machine is a device that uses a hot wire element to cut various types of foam to produce many products and is used in decorative works, making urban beauty elements and facades,” Seyed Mehdi Amirkiayee, a faculty member of the architecture department of Islamic Azad University’s Bandar Anzali branch and the manager of the company, told ANA.
He explained that due to the lightness of the foam, its large dimensions and the drastic reduction in costs, it is used instead of wood, steel and other materials.
“The low-risk machining process and the possibility to make complex elements are other advantages of foam products,” Amirkiayee said.
