Iranian Company Makes Robotic Arm with 7 Degrees of Freedom
"The product of our company is an industrial robot with 7 degrees of freedom that can carry 250 kg of load,” said Alireza Hashempour, a member of the board of directors of the knowledge-based company.
Noting that the arm length of the robot is 2.5 meters and the movement accuracy in the working space is 0.5 of a millimeter, he said, “This robot is used in various industries like auto-making, household appliances, construction industries, foam manufacturing industries, chemical factories and food industries and it is applied to carry out all kinds of transfers, welding, cutting, injecting materials and gluing.”
Hashempour described the industrial robot as a strong and tireless arm for industrial applications, and said, “If this robot is equipped with peripheral equipment, it will be able to perform a variety of industrial tasks.”
In a relevant development in April, researchers at a startup company in Iran had also acquired the know-how to make subsurface explorer robots that makes it possible to take photos and identify sunken objects up to a depth of 100 meters beneath the sea surface.
“We in this company are working on underwater robots with underwater imaging mission. We have targeted Remotely Operated vehicle (ROV) robots in this company. These robots are controlled by cables and the operator can control them online,” said Ali Golkar, the managing director of the Iranian startup company which operates in the maritime field.
“This robot can carry out the desired missions up to a depth of 100 meters. This means that it has the capability to carry out missions in the entire Persian Gulf,” the researcher also said.
Golkar pointed to the inspection operation as one of the capabilities of the subsurface explorer robot, which is made in a modular way, adding, “Extra operations can be added to this robot. It can operate 24 hours a day by connecting to a power source or a battery.”
