“A person who suffers a cardiac arrest has between 4 and 6 minutes to receive a shock and come back to life. In big cities or in places that are far from medical facilities, this cardiac resuscitation is practically not realized but by installing this device in public places or places with more traffic, such as airports, parks, subways, etc., a significant number of people who suffer cardiac arrest can be brought back to life,” said Mohammad Ahanian, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

Noting that the device has an automatic teller which explains the procedures of working with the device to the operator and at the same time monitors the patient's condition, he said, “It means that it can detect if the patient still needs a shock or not, and if needed, the device will be charged.”

“If this device is used on time and in different places, it can reduce the death rate due to cardiac arrest by 50 percent,” Ahanian said.

The AED is a computerized medical device. It's battery powered with adhesive defibrillator pads that are applied to the chest to allow an electrical current to pass through to the heart to reset the heart's normal electrical current.

AEDs are used to help those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. It's a sophisticated, yet easy-to-use, medical device that can analyze the heart's rhythm and, if necessary, deliver an electrical shock, or defibrillation, to help the heart re-establish an effective rhythm.
