Iranian Firm Produces High-Quality Nano-Based Discs for Dental Laboratories
“These discs are used to make dental veneers. One of the main components of these discs is zirconia, which enjoys high strength. We used nano zirconia to produce the disc which has led to the production of veneers with higher biocompatibility, transparency and a more beautiful appearance,” said Flor Shayeq, the managing-director of the technological company.
Noting that the best quality zirconia nano ceramic is used to make this disc, she said, “The disk that we have produced has high strength properties and a more beautiful appearance than the products available in the market. It has been produced completely domestically and has passed the tests related to dental ceramics, ISO6872:2015, with success and high quality.”
Shayeq underlined that the use of nano-ceramic makes the coatings produced from this disk more compatible with the human body.
In a relevant development last year, Iranian researchers at a technological company had also managed to make a prototype of a device to restore the tooth root canal.
“The device is a new and advanced tool for restoration and preparation of the tooth root canal,” said Hamid Behzad, the managing director of the company.
He explained that manual files or non-automatic devices were used in the past to prepare the root canal, adding that the dentist's lack of control over the movements of the device sometimes led to the file breaking inside the tooth.
“But with the help of this device, the root canal of the tooth can be removed without any defects,” Behzad said, adding that the product is similar to the foreign samples and does not have any domestic counterpart.
