Iranian Technologists Build Device for Restoration of Tooth Root Canal
“The device is a new and advanced tool for restoration and preparation of the tooth root canal,” said Hamid Behzad, the managing director of the company.
He explained that manual files or non-automatic devices were used in the past to prepare the root canal, adding that the dentist's lack of control over the movements of the device sometimes led to the file breaking inside the tooth.
“But with the help of this device, the root canal of the tooth can be removed without any defects,” Behzad said, adding that the product is similar to the foreign samples and does not have any domestic counterpart.
In a relevant development last year, an Iranian knowledge-based company active in nanotechnology fields managed to produce photocurable dental composites at a lower price than the foreign samples.
“Our product is photocurable dental composite which contains nanofillers,” Kiana Karimi, an R&D specialist at Mahya Tarmim company, told ANA.
Noting that there are many foreign firms which have made the photocurable dental composites before, she said, “Mahya Tarmim is the first company which has manufactured this product in Iran.”
