“We succeeded in producing a talking automatic electroshock device (AED) which can be used to save and revive the patient and provide emergency aid in case of heart attack and irregular heartbeat,” Mohammad Ali Rasouli, a technical expert of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

When a person has a heart attack, the emergency should be called and the automatic electroshock device plays a golden role until the emergency workers arrive, he added.

Noting that the disposable pads of the electroshock device are placed on the person's chest, Rasouli said, “These disposable pads receive the electrical signals of the heart and when the person needs a shock, they apply the shock automatically.”

“The electroshock device has a speaker and guides the person by pressing a button. It does not require a specialist doctor or nurse and an ordinary person can use it,” he underlined.

In a relevant development in April, an Iranian knowledge-based company active in the field of medical equipment had also designed and produced a home-made sports testing device for the first time in the country.

The knowledge-based company named ‘Avicenna’ has been able to take a big step in designing and manufacturing medical equipment and knowledge-based products to help the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

“We have been able to produce and supply a number of products that include cardiac exercise testing system, cardiac rehabilitation system, holter monitoring of blood pressure, electrocardiograph device, electroshock and disposable chest electrode,” Maryam Qassemi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.

"We are the first knowledge-based company in production of sports testing equipment in Iran, and at present, over 3,000 centers in the country have been supplied and are using these products,” she added.
