Iranian Knowledge-Based Firm Produces, Sells 40 Domestically-Made Intelligent Robot Arms

“The robotic arm with seven degrees of freedom and equipped with a linear axis is one of the latest products of our knowledge-based company,” Soheil Ahangarian, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, operating in the field of robotics, told ANA.

“The most important technological part of this intelligent robotic arm is its seven degrees of freedom, which allows unlimited rotational movement for carrying, moving and any other task assigned to it,” Ahangarian said.

“This robotic arm has the capability to carry up to 250 kg loads,” he also said, adding, “In fact, this robot is a skilled programmable arm.”

“This robot, like a skilled labor force, has the capability to work with the tool that is defined for it,” the managing director of the knowledge-based firm said while talking about applications of the arm.

“For example, if a welding task is defined for this robotic arm, it can work in the same field like a real labor force,” he explained more.

With regard to the commercialization of the arm produced in their company, the managing director of knowledge-based firm said, “Robotics is a sanctioned industry while few countries produce industrial robotic arms. At present, about 40 of these arms have been sold to industrial units across the country.”

“The most important feature that industrial robots must have is the ability to perform a repetitive task in a certain period of time.  This is an ability that a worker cannot do in a long period of time,” Ahangarian said about robotic arms in general. “For that, the most important target market of these robots are factories and industrial units.”

“This robotic arm works with three-phase power in an industrial unit,” he concluded.
