“Pardis Park has a wide range of product diversity, and the largest exporters of knowledge-based products and drug manufacturers are working there,” said Hossein Afshin, the Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

“Pardis Park operates as the largest and only technology park under the supervision of the Vice-Presidency for Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, while other technology parks are subordinate to the Ministry of Science,” he added.

“Meantime, the Park's activities are not limited to the medical field, but experts and elites are also working and making progress in the fields of oil, gas, renewable energy and other areas,” Afshin said.

Pardis Technology Park, which is the largest technology park in West Asia, was established in 2001. So far, over 400 technology and knowledge-based units have been accepted as members in the park, operating in advanced technology fields such as information and communication technology, biotechnology, nanotechnology, new materials, mechanics, and automation.

A senior official at Pardis Science and Technology Park in Tehran announced in September that 121 new products were produced by the knowledge-based companies stationed at the Park in the past Persian calendar year (ended on March 19).

“Based on assessments, 2,530 products were produced by member companies of Pardis Technology Park in the past year,” said Mohsen Ali Akbarian, the director of supervision and evaluation of technology units at Pardis Science and Technology Park.

“Out of the 2,530 products developed by member companies of Pardis Technology Park, 121 are new products made last year,” he added.

“Companies were evaluated in four fields of technology development, innovation creation, economic development, and organizational development,” Ali Akbarian said.
