Iranian Scientists Use AI Algorithm to Accurately Detect Cancer Tissue

Iranian researchers in a joint research with their American counterparts succeeded in designing an artificial intelligence algorithm to detect cancerous tissues.

Sadeq Kazzemi Fard, the manager of this project, described the high accuracy of diagnosis as one of the advantages of this method, and said, “The artificial intelligence algorithm developed by identifying cancer tissue in the early stages enables doctors to prevent the spread of the disease.”

“Sina artificial intelligence model has been approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) and will be available to medical and research centers from the beginning of 2025,” he added.

“In its latest clinical trial, Sina artificial intelligence algorithm once again demonstrated its ability to accurately diagnose cancer and was able to identify a cancerous mass in the breast tissue of a young woman, which was mistakenly diagnosed as a cyst in the initial tests,” Kazzemi Fard said.

“This patient, who was diagnosed with suspected cancer in routine examinations, was accurately identified with the help of artificial intelligence and mammography of the cancer tissue in two places, and the disease was confirmed with a biopsy, and the treatment process began for the patient,” he explained.

Iranian Knowledge-Based Firm Indigenizes 800 High-Precision Satellite Mapping Receivers

Iranian researchers at a knowledge-based company succeeded in production of 800 satellite mapping receivers with centimeter accuracy.

“Our field of activity is in precise satellite positioning systems. This device is applied for mapping, preparation of property maps of agricultural and construction lands and measures related to GIS or geographic information system,” Meysam Qanizadeh, a researcher of the knowledge-based company stationed at the Science and Technology Park of University of Tehran, told ANA.

“We are one of the leading companies in the field of producing satellite mapping receivers, which have been welcomed by users inside and outside the country due to their high accuracy, efficiency and reasonable price,” he added.

Qanizadeh explained that mapping receivers often include real-time data analysis and post-processing capabilities, adding that in real-time applications, these receivers can provide spatial data directly and instantaneously in the field.

“At present, this technology is used for self-driving cars and automotive industry equipment,” he underlined.

Qanizadeh noted that the GPS receiver takes help in determining its exact position by receiving signals from the satellite, adding that these signals include precise time information and the positions of the satellites, allowing the receiver to calculate its position through a process called trilateration.

Iranian Company Makes Lyophilized Pills with Innovative Platform

Iranian researchers at a knowledge-based pharmaceutical company succeeded in production of a type of lyophilized tablets by using a unique platform that was previously only produced in a few specific countries.

“In our company, we work on an innovative and special pharmaceutical platform, which currently exists only in a few countries in the world, and in our country, only one or two forms of it are imported,” said Hamidreza Motaseddizadeh Sorkhbidi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

“Also, in the field of medicine, we have focused on lyophilized tablets that dissolve in the mouth in less than three seconds and have a high absorption rate. These drugs have specific uses and are very useful for human health,” he added.

“We are trying to take an important step towards improving the health of society and self-sufficiency of the country by indigenization of this platform and producing new medicines,” Motaseddizadeh Sorkhbidi.

“In our company, relying on our knowledge and expertise and taking advantage of existing patents, we succeeded in developing a type of lyophilized tablets that were previously only produced in a few specific countries,” he added.

Iranian Experts Develop Software to Provide Exact Address of Businesses

A new software has been developed by the Iranian technologists which allows businesses to mark the route to their exact location.

“In addition to producing the map and the route finder, we have prepared fairly complete city information that business owners can register their business location on it,” Amir Mohammad Golkani, a manager of a technological company.

Noting that city divisions and information are always updated, he said, “This product is similar to the Iranian software like Neshan and Balad but it enjoys more capabilities.”

“This software has provided a possibility that all companies and devices can put their routing information on it,” Golkani said.

Iran-Made Shock Absorber Tank Minimizes Pressure in Water, Oil Transmission Pipes

An Iranian knowledge-based company succeeded in indigenizing a shock absorber tank that minimizes the effects of pressure reduction or increase in water, oil and pumping systems pipelines and prevents sudden waves known as ‘ram shock’.

“Shock absorber tank is one of the most important equipment in water, oil and pumping systems transmission lines, which minimizes the impacts of reducing or increasing pressure in pipelines under pressure and prevents the phenomenon of ram impact,” said Hamid Abedinzadegan Abdi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

“In other words, the shock absorber is put under pressure in the way of fluid transmission lines, so that in case of pressure increase, it acts as a storage tank and when the pressure decreases, it acts as a reservoir and power source,” he added.

Noting that an increase or decrease in pressure in water, oil, etc. transmission lines causes sudden waves, which are known as ram shocks, Abedinzadegan Abdi said, “The phenomenon of ram impact depends on various factors like changes in flow rate and pressure and speed of fluid transfer.

Considering the dangers and serious damages caused by the phenomenon of ram impact to the body of pipes and fluid transfer facilities, the shock absorber tank can be an effective factor in eliminating this phenomenon.”

Iranian Experts Use Nanotechnology to Boost Quality of Radiation Protection Gowns, Vests

Specialists in an Iranian knowledge-based company succeeded in developing X- and UV-absorbing textile technology that can be used in radiation protection gowns and vests.

The Iranian knowledge-based company has made it possible to minimize the damage caused by X-ray by designing X-ray protective textiles.

These textiles are also suitable for protection against UV rays, rays that are an inseparable part of sunlight and can lead to premature aging of the skin, damage to the skin pigment, the creation of skin spots, sunburn, and in severe cases, damage to the squamous cells and the occurrence of skin diseases.

This technology has made it possible to minimize the damage caused by ultraviolet rays, specially while driving, walking and cycling, by designing protective textiles against UV rays, specially protective cotton gloves.

Among the advantages of these products is the reduction of the finished price compared to imported samples, lower weight compared to similar samples and their versatility.

Iran-Made Research Electrospinning Machine Able to Produce Tissue Engineering Channels, Scaffolds

A knowledge-based company in Iran has produced industrial electrospinning machines with the aim of developing the nanofiber industry in the country.

Hamideh Azimi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, noted that the electrospinning machines of the company can be equipped with a type of nanofiber collection system by which the nanofiber texture is formed under different angles.

“The research electrospinning machines of the company have been designed in a way that they can be used for the production of non-textured layers and it is possible to design all types of narrow channels for the research of artificial vessels and nerve channels, and also they provide the possibility to make and weave nanofibers in these devices,” she said.

“Our company has also invented a new type of system for the industrial production of nanofibers, by which efficient membranes can be produced for the filtration of liquids and gases. These devices are used in the fields of biological research, medicine and tissue engineering, nanomembranes, nanosensors, environment, defense, catalysts, solar cells, batteries, supercapacitors, waterproof and breathable coatings, nanoelectronics, nanocomposite, and absorbents,” Azimi said.

Iranian Firm Makes High-Resistance Double-Walled Polyethylene Prefabricated Houses

A knowledge-based company succeeded in production of high-resistance double-walled polyethylene prefabricated houses.

“This method of construction is fast, light and portable, which allows houses to be built and transported to the destination in the shortest possible time,” said Mirqassem Mirzadeh, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

“The polyethylene materials used in the construction of these houses are highly resistant to moisture, heat, cold and other atmospheric factors. Also, these materials can be recycled and reused, which helps to preserve the environment,” he added.

Mirzadeh noted that prefab polyethylene houses have many applications in different spaces, including hotel suites, security camps, mountaineering and recreational camps, villas, places that do not have permission to build, suites floating on the surface of water, restaurants and floating cafes in open waters next to beaches or water behind dams, temporary and necessary accommodation in critical situations like earthquakes and floods due to quick assembly, villas in gardens and fields, field clinics, canopies in construction projects and tourist and entertainment places.

“Prefab polyethylene houses are designed and produced in three different dome-shaped, villa and canteen models. By using prefabricated houses, the wastage of resources like building materials, time and energy is reduced and this makes the construction process with the consumption of raw materials less and more compatible with the concept of environmental protection,” he explained.

Iran-Made Device Uses AI to Detect Posture Abnormalities, Movement Disorders

Using artificial intelligence technology, the specialists of a knowledge-based company in Iran succeeded in manufacturing a posture structure analysis device which provides accurate and comprehensive information to specialists for treatment.

“The body structure analysis device is made to measure and evaluate skeletal deviations of the body, including shoulders, neck, lordosis and foot deviations, etc.,” said Mojtaba Gohari, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

“The analysis is carried out by specifying the locations of the joints and computer evaluation by photogrammetry method,” he added.

Gohari described imaging technology, data analysis, reporting and corrective exercises as the four unique functions of the knowledge-based device, and said, “This device uses advanced imaging technologies to produce accurate images of a person's posture, can analyze the collected data and provide information about the angles, curves and symmetry of the body. This data helps professionals diagnose weaknesses and anomalies.”

Iranian Scientist Constructs Device to Produce Fresh Water by Using Solar Energy

Mostafa Shafiqzadeh, an Iranian student of Islamic Azad University’s Torbat Heydarieh branch won a gold medal from the Federation of Top European Inventors by inventing a device for producing fresh water by using the solar energy.

“The device for production of fresh water by using the solar energy can be made in different dimensions. The prototype of the device is one meter long, 50 cm wide and 70 cm high, which can produce 150 liters of water daily (from sunrise to sunset),” Shafiqzadeh told ANA.

“This device obviates the country's water shortage and works exactly like a well with a water engine,” he added.

Shafiqzadeh explained that for better and higher water quality, the device should be used in desert and dry areas.

Iranian Researchers Grow African Grass with Little Water Consumption

Iranian researchers at a knowledge-based company succeeded in producing native African grass of genotype 88 which reduces water consumption by one-fifth compared to common types of grass while showing resistance to water and soil salinity.

“African grass of genotype 88 is a type of native grass that has good appearance characteristics like color, texture and density of grass, which in general is grass with high appearance and functional quality,” said Zamani, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

Noting that the important characteristic of this type of grass is its high tolerance to drought stress as well as salinity, heat and waterlogging, he said, “Compared to common types of grass, it reduces the amount of water consumption by one-fifth, while showing resistance to water and soil salinity; therefore, in order to reduce water consumption in urban green spaces, it can be a suitable alternative for common grass species in the country.”

“This product is urban, industrial, and domestic green spaces in tropical and subtropical regions, which of course can be used in cold regions as well, but in these regions it has a short period of time, which at this time also depends on the color of the time,” Zamani added.

Iran to Inaugurate Largest Training Village to Improve Students’ Skills

The vice-chancellor of educational and technical sciences of Islamic Azad University announced that the largest educational and training village in the Western part of Iran to improve students’ skills will be inaugurated soon.

“The largest village to improve students’ skills in western Iran has been established in Hamedan city and it will be officially inaugurated early fall,” Mohammad Ali Nadi told ANA.

He underlined that in addition to the rapid movement in students’ skill training, Islamic Azad University has started the skill training process in the student sector.

Nadi also said that the model of technology development and entrepreneurship in the university is a triangle composed of education, skill and technology, which includes various fields, including TMC centers, laboratories, workshops and simulated skill environments.

Iranian Knowledge-Based Company Acquires Know-How of Tissue Culture of Ornamental Plants

Specialists of a knowledge-based company took an important step towards increasing the productivity of greenhouses by localizing the tissue culture technique for ornamental plants.

“Our knowledge-based company is one of the first firms that have indigenized tissue culture in ornamental plants,” said Ebrahim Bairamizadeh, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

“We have been able to indigenize the tissue culture technique for ornamental plants, even for the base of fruit trees and the roots of the gerbera plant, which was once imported,” he added.

This will save foreign exchange and prevents the imports of these products, Bairamizadeh said.

Iranian Student Team Wins Gold Medal in Invention Competition in Britain

Iranian students from Sama primary school in Najafabad in the Central part of Iran won the gold medal of an invention competition and exhibition in Britain.

The international and specialized exhibition of inventions was held with the support of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIIPA), universities and scientific research organizations and centers related to inventors, hosted by Kingston University, England, in London on September 25-27, 2024.

The competitions was held face-to-face with the participation of 32 countries and the presentation of 285 researches and inventions in various fields. In addition to Britain, several countries, including France, Japan, Romania, Canada, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Poland, Taiwan, Thailand, Croatia, Cyprus, Iran, etc. had also participated in this edition of the exhibition and competitions.

In these competitions, Iranian inventors and researchers in various fields like nanotechnology, biotechnology, electronic engineering, astronomy, food industry, mechanical engineering, medical engineering, pharmaceutical, energy, environment, health, etc. had also participated in two student levels with 7 teams and they won 6 gold medals and 5 silver medals and several special awards from prestigious universities and centers.
