New Iran-Made Antimicrobial Pad Doubles Shelf Life of Products
The new antimicrobial pad, which is the result of years of research and development, is produced based on natural materials and is easily removed from the packaging, and it can significantly increase the shelf life of food products, specially fresh meat.
Increasing the shelf life of food by inhibiting the growth of microbes and preventing premature spoilage of products, greater food safety by reducing the risk of microbial contamination and disease transmission, decreasing food waste by increasing the useful life of products, being compatible with the environment and easy separation from the packaging to prevent harm to the environment are among the advantages of this product.
In a relevant development in August, a knowledge-based company in Iran had also produced packaging devices based on the modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) method which increases the shelf life of food by 3 to 10 times.
“Our machines are equipped with a vacuum system and gas injection which carry out packaging by using the MAP method. This product can automatically pack food products in plastic containers with high speed and accuracy,” said Mohaddeseh Haji, the company's marketing expert.
She explained that the technology improves the shelf life of the product by 3 to 10 times, while it does not contain harmful preservatives, adding, “Also, while evacuating the air around the product, this device uses gas injection to create a modified atmosphere and increase the shelf life of the product.”
“The machine can perform the processes of measuring, filling, vacuuming, sealing and printing the product’s information automatically,” Haji said.
She added that this method increases the shelf life of the products several times, and also maintains the original quality of the products, lowers the returns, increases the hygiene of the product and has a great impact on the beauty of the product.
