Iranian Armed Forces Condemn EU Blacklisting of IRGC as “Irrational and Hostile”

TEHRAN (ANA)- The General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces has strongly denounced the European Union’s decision to designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization, describing the move as irrational, irresponsible, and driven by U.S. and Israeli influence.

In an official statement, Iran’s top military body criticized the EU for what it called “a detestable action” reflecting deep hostility toward the Iranian nation, the Armed Forces, and the country’s sovereignty. The statement accused the European bloc of acting under pressure from the “delusional” U.S. administration and the “terrorist and child-killing Zionist regime.”

The General Staff described the blacklisting as devoid of any rational basis and emphasized that it violates international law, the United Nations Charter, and universally recognized principles of respect for national sovereignty.

The statement framed the EU move as part of broader Western attempts to undermine Iran’s independence and security, reaffirming Tehran’s rejection of external interference in its domestic and military affairs.
