Applied Research in Iran Leads to Production of Nutrient Solution for Hydroponic Cultivation of Ornamental Plants
“The product has been a suitable alternative to chemical compound because the increasing trend of using the chemical fertilizers in hydroponic cultivation of greenhouses causes environmental problems and affects edible products, including cucumbers and tomatoes and serious harms the human body,” Mohsen Tajari Nasser Amini told ANA on the sideline of Asreh Omid Event in Tehran.
“The nutrient solution for hydroponic cultivation of ornamental plants leads to production of a healthy and organic product and prevents harms and withdrawal of a part of the country's foreign currency spent for the imports of chemical fertilizers,” he added.
Tajari Nasser Amin explained that due to the development of soilless or hydroponic cultivation of all kinds of flowers, ornamental plants and vegetables in other countries, and due to the good productivity of hydroponic cultivation, this type of cultivation has been developing day by day in Iran, adding that for this purpose, an applied research was carried out for nearly three years to prepare a nutrient solution for hydroponic cultivation, which finally produced a completely healthy, inexpensive and value-added solution which can be mass-produced in case of meeting the economic conditions.
Islamic Azad University's "second step of revolution" under the title of Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 01, 2022 to exhibit new achievements, equipment and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
