Exports in South Korea Decrease 5.2 Percent

TEHRAN (ANA)- Customs office data showed that South Korea's export reduced 5.2 percent year-on-year in the first 20 days of April.

The revenue of outbound shipment stood at 33.87 billion U.S. dollars in the cited period, according to Korea Customs Service.

Semiconductor export grew 10.7 percent to 6.47 billion dollars in the cited period, but automotive shipment shrank 6.5 percent to 3.67 billion dollars.

Oil products shipment plunged 22.0 percent to 2.21 billion dollars, and those for steel products, auto parts, mobile devices, ship and precision machinery declined in single digits.

Import diminished 11.8 percent to 34.01 billion dollars in the 20-day period, sending the trade deficit to 137 million dollars.

Import for crude oil, natural gas, oil products, cars, coal and mobile devices dropped in double digits, but those for semiconductor equipment and precision machinery rose in single digits.
