Iran Non-Oil Trade with OIC Members Up 14 Percent
The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) announced that the volume of the trade exchanges between Iran and OIC member states in the mentioned six months reached 48.8 million tons, also 4% more compared to the same time in the previous year.
Iran exported 38.4 million tons of non-oil goods worth $15.6 billion to OIC member countries and imported 10.4 million tons of commodities valued at $16.6 billion from them in the first six months of the current Iranian year.
IRICA added that the country’s exports to OIC members registered 10% and 1% increase in value and weight respectively in the mentioned period, while the import of products from the mentioned countries also increased by 18% and 16% percent in terms of value and weight.
It noted that the largest volume of Iran's non-oil trade with the OIC member countries in the first six months of this year was with the UAE, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan and Oman, respectively.
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation, formerly the Organization of the Islamic Conference, is an intergovernmental organization founded in 1969. It consists of 57 member states, 48 of which are Muslim-majority.
