"Pouya Moharrami, a student at Sama school, has been able to design programs with the help of programming codes and my instructions and was selected as the best project to enter the Asreh Omid Event of Islamic Azad University in the students' achievements section,” Maryam Tolou, the instructor of the student, told ANA.

She added that the Scratch programming language was designed and produced by a team led by a scientist named ‘Mitchel Resnick’ in the media lab of MIT University with the aim of teaching the principles of programming to children.

This programming language was released to the market in 2007 and is considered a new programming language in the world, Tolou explained, noting that the programming language has attracted many fans around the world in a short period of time.

“The reason for this rapid growth is the simplicity and attractiveness of the work environment, the comprehensibility of commands and operations, the availability of all the concepts and facilities that a programmer needs, and free access to it,” she said, adding that an individual can create any program, game and animation they want with the help of this programming language, while the training does not require any skills and educational prerequisites.

Scratch is a visual programming environment that allows users (primarily ages 8 to 16) to learn computer programming while working on personally meaningful projects such as animated stories and games.

A key design goal of Scratch is to support self-directed learning through tinkering and collaboration with peers.
