Smart Poultry Farms, Greenhouses with Help of Knowledge-Based Company
A country’s food security matters a lot and is considered one of the most strategic issues in any society. That’s why Iranian Vice-Presidency for Scientific and Technology has placed a special emphasis on food security and the role of nanotechnology.
The Nafis Knowledge Processing Company is one of the knowledge-bases firms in Iran that has tried to focus on responding to the technological needs in this field by forming an active university research and development core.
Aqeel Kashir Taqartapeh, the managing director of Nafis pointed to that their product “Alertis”, saying it is used for poultry farms and greenhouses.
“This product is a network of wireless sensors, with a range of more than one kilometer that can be installed in different places, especially poultry farms and greenhouses,” he added.
“The owner of the poultry farm must constantly check various parameters such as temperature, weather conditions etc., and this system helps them to have timely information about the status of the poultry farm,” he explained more, adding, “Increasing the profitability of the farm by reducing costs, efficient feed consumption, efficient drug consumption, reducing losses, preventing heat stress in poultry farm, improving feed conversion ratio in traditional and modern halls are among the advantages of using this knowledge-based system.”
According to Kashir Taqartapeh, the smart network helps to reduce the cost of greenhouses and increase their productivity.
The Nafis managing director also said that their company produces incubators that is a device used in biological laboratories to cultivate and grow living samples such as cells or microbes. This device maintains optimal temperature, oxygen and humidity, carbon dioxide levels and other conditions for the growth and cultivation of living organisms. Incubator is one of the important tools in the experiments of microbiology, cell biology and other related fields, he added.
Nafis Knowledge Processor Company is also operating in the field different cold storage facilities, agricultural facilities and production of various sensors used in this field, and in addition to production, it also provides designing, monitoring and knowledge-based consulting services to this field, Kashir Taqartapeh further said.
