Ghalibaf urges regional unity amid U.S.involvement in Middle East
At the start of their discussions, Ghalibaf expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s support during recent conflicts involving Iran, noting that the Iranian people and officials, including the Supreme Leader, recognized the country’s assistance.
“The Iranian people and officials fully acknowledge Pakistan’s support, which the Supreme Leader highlighted in his first message,” Ghalibaf said, emphasizing the importance of deepening ties.
The Parliament Speaker highlighted the favorable state of Tehran-Islamabad relations and called for enhanced collaboration across political, economic, cultural, and security sectors. “Expanding parliamentary cooperation is also a key part of this agenda,” he added.
Turning to regional developments, Ghalibaf condemned U.S. and Israeli actions, saying recent conflicts in the area demonstrate that foreign presence does not bring security. “Some regional governments assumed U.S. involvement would provide safety, but recent events show it actually creates instability,” he stated.
Ghalibaf called on neighboring nations to strengthen economic ties and political and security cooperation based on mutual trust and collaboration as a solution to regional tensions.
Pakistani Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi echoed these sentiments, conveying greetings from Pakistan’s leadership and noting the deepening bond between the Iranian and Pakistani peoples. “The nations of the two countries were already close, but now they have become even closer. Pakistanis pray daily for the success of the Iranian government and nation,” he said.
Naqvi also praised Ghalibaf for defending Iran’s national interests during negotiations while striving to resolve disputes. He expressed hope that Pakistan could help bring ongoing peace talks in the region to a successful conclusion.
