“This system was developed with the aim of accurate location finding in indoor environments and is widely used in areas like smart warehousing, smart mining, personnel tracking in various industries, airports and hotels,” said Saeed Ebadollahi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Science and Technology and executor of the knowledge-based project.

“The RTLS system provides indoor positioning and this technology can be used wherever real-time location in an indoor environment is important,” he added.

The development team of this project consists of 6 to 7 people, including software, hardware, and project management specialists, and their goal is to develop a completely Iranian technology to meet the needs of domestic industries,” Ebadollahi said.

In a relevant development in May, an Iranian company had also managed to produce warehouse robots special to moving postal parcels which are now being used in two centers.

“Our product is a robot which sorts the postal parcels. These robots are currently active in two centers in Iran to separate and sort the postal parcels. Of course, we are trying to expand their activities throughout the country in the future,” Mohammad Matin Nasseri, the operations manager of the company, told ANA.

Noting that the task of sorting robots in the past was performed by human labor, which was extremely eroding and the accuracy of the work decreased after a while, he said that the application of these robots in the two postal centers allowed the separation work to be done 4 times faster in these centers than before. The accuracy and efficiency of the work also increased significantly.”

“Some parts, like motors and ICs, were imported due to being uneconomical. The technology for designing and operating the motor at all stages, including body construction, programming, etc., was carried out by Iranian specialists, and we are considered the third country in the world to have produced and deployed postal robots,” Nasseri said.
