Iran Produces over 25mln tons of Steel in 9 Months
The World Steel Association (WSA) in its latest report said that Iran’s steel production volume registered a 9% growth over the past 10 months of the year in 2022.
It added that as steel production in the EU and the US is in decline for several months, Iran’s steel production in the Iranian month of Mehr (from August 22 October 22) showed a 35% growth.
While all top 10 steel producers in the world faced a considerable slump in steel production, Iran, India and China registered steel production growth in a way that China accounted for the maximum steel production in the world from January to October 2022.
Earlier this month, the Iranian Steel Producers Association (ISPA) had announced that production of steel in Iran has risen 16 percent in the first seven months of the current Iranian calendar year (started on March 21) as compared to the same period of time in the past year.
It added that Iran has produced 18.268 million tons of steel in the seven-month period.
Iran’s steel industry has been constantly developing over the past years against all the pressures and obstacles created by outside forces like the US sanctions and the coronavirus outbreak that has severely affected the performance of the world’s top producers.
According to World Steel Association, Iran is the world’s 10th biggest producer of crude steel.
