Iran has made significant achievements in the livestock and poultry sector, and has also taken an acceptable position in the world in the production of medicines and vaccines in this field,” said Nouri Ghezeljeh in the meeting.

Noting that Iran is ready to cooperate in the field of research and study, plant improvement and conservation, and livestock breeding with the IOFS members, he said, “We also enjoy the capability to produce agricultural machinery like tractors and other equipment needed for agriculture.”

Also Arin, for his part, said that Iran is a leading country in the region in terms of advanced technologies and sustainable agricultural development.

“Many member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation need Iran's capabilities. We had agreements in the field of training that can be an organized and systematic opportunity to transfer the Iranian knowledge and information,” he said.

Director General of the Agricultural, Construction and Mining Machinery Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Iran Abouzar Jamshidvand announced in December a 10% growth in agricultural machinery production and exports.

“During the first 7 months of this year, over 21,000 tractors of all types have been produced in Iran, compared to about 19,000 units in the same period last year, showing a 10% growth,” Jamshidvand said.

He also underlined 10% growth in combine harvester production, and added, “In the first 7 months of last year, nearly 395 combine harvesters were produced, which reached 430 units in the first 7 months of this year thanks to the efforts of manufacturers.”

“With the growth in tractor and combine harvester production in Iran, the exports of some agricultural machinery have also grown by nearly 10 percent,” Jamshidvand said.
