Iran inaugurates Middle East’s largest cancer treatment hospital
The national Cancer Institute Hospital project was inaugurated on Tuesday morning in the presence of Mohammad Reza Zafarqandi, Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, and Aladdin Rafizadeh, head of the Administrative and Recruitment Organization.
Built with the support of philanthropists, the new medical complex is recognized as the largest cancer treatment center in the Middle East. The facility spans 60,000 square meters and was completed after five and a half years of continuous construction work.
According to officials, the hospital includes 37 specialized departments, 11 imaging and radiotherapy units, and 96 chemotherapy beds. It also features 19 operating rooms, 6 endoscopy suites, 103 intensive care unit (ICU) beds, and 460 inpatient beds.
In addition, the center is equipped with dedicated VIP sections, bone marrow transplant facilities, clean rooms for chemotherapy, radiotherapy services, advanced imaging units, and a wide range of supporting medical departments required for comprehensive cancer care.
