Iranian Firm Develops New Tool for Testing Under-Pressure Equipment in Oil, Gas Industries
“The product for which we have gained the knowledge-based license is a new tool for testing equipment under pressure in the oil and gas and power plant industries,” said Mahmoud Kavousi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.
Noting that this tool improves efficiency up to 15 times in terms of time and economy, he said, “Hydrostatic method is used in oil and gas industries and other industries that require equipment pressure testing.”
“This method involves testing pipes, valves and other industrial equipment before installation to ensure they can withstand the required pressure. In addition to saving time, using this tool significantly reduces costs and improves economic efficiency dramatically,” Kavousi said.
In a relevant development in May, the mechatronic specialists of an Iranian knowledge-based company had also succeeded in making sensors used in the instruments which measure the fluid level in the oil and gas tanks.
“This device is a liquid level measurement sensor inside oil and gas tanks. The sensor is widely used in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries,” Mehdi Rahbar Alam, the Research and Development Manager of the knowledge-based company stationed at Shiraz Science and Technology Park, told ANA.
“This sensor is installed on top of the tank and measures the liquid level, and the exact number appears on the display as a decimal,” he added.
Rahbar Alam explained that a number of these devices have been installed in South Pars Refinery in Southern Iran, noting, “Microcontrollers or microprocessors have been designed and produced from A to Z by the Iranian specialists in our company.”
