Iranian Researchers Produce Medical Film Color Printing Ink with 70% Water
“The ink that we have produced is used for photography labs, home use and color printing in hospitals,” said Mohaddeseh Javadian, a research and development expert of the knowledge-based company.
Noting that the product that was presented to the market is similar in quality to the foreign samples that have received all the standards in terms of quality, she said, “This ink does not clog the head of the device at all while it has good optical stability and enjoys good color transparency.”
“Seventy percent of the formulation of this ink consists of water, its solvents are also environmentally friendly and do not cause any harm to the environment,” Javadian said.
In a relevant development in May, technologists at a knowledge-based firm in Iran had managed to locally produce antibacterial inks used for pens using nanotechnology that is also suitable for different climates.
Speaking to local Iranian media, Mohammad Amin Maghsoudi, the managing director of the newly-established knowledge-based company said that the antibacterial ink is produced for the first time in Iran by their company.
He said that the country spends $2.5 million on importing ink for producing stationary in the country, adding, “So far, only 6 countries in the world produce ink for pens.”
“The per kilogram of the ink produced in this company is 25% cheaper than foreign-made imported ink. Each kilogram of ink is used for 4,000 to 8,000 t pens,” he said.
The managing director of the company stated that 3 grams of the weight of each pen is for its ink, adding that the ink produced in their company has antibacterial properties and is produced for use in different climatic conditions.
Made using nano silver technology, it prevents harmful microorganisms from sticking on the surface and reducing chances of transmission.
