Iran-Made Sealant Reduces Infiltration of Water, Dust into Vehicle

TEHRAN (ANA)- An Iranian company has produced special nanotechnology-based PVC paste to be used as sealant to cover the seam and fix the gap between the connection points in the body and inside the car room and possible defects in car factories.

The main application of the sealant is to prevent the penetration of water, dust, and gas, and increase resistance to corrosion, moisture and sound penetration into the car cabin.

The sealants are resistant to chemical factors, the temperature of the assembly furnace, as well as the friction and vibration of the vehicle.

Goharfam Manufacturing and Industrial Company is a knowledge-based firm which produces sealants based on nanotechnology.

This sealant has been produced with the help of nanotechnology and on the basis of polyvinyl chloride, which increases the strength and improves the density of sealants and resistance to tarnishing, vibration and shocks to the car's cabin.

Highly good adhesion to different surfaces, coverable with different colors, easy application, quick drying, excellent thermal stability and high resistance to different weather conditions are among other specifications of the Iran-made sealants.

Iran has considerably made progress in nanotechnology and increased its exports of nano products to other countries.

"The volume of Iran’s nanotechnology export is eye-catching and the country is exporting its nano products to 21 countries,” Director of Industrial Promotion Group of Iran's Nanotechnology Development Department Ali Tahari said earlier this year.

"After putting into operation the nano-fabric industrial production line, we were able to export this technology to South Korea and we signed a contract to export it to China as well," he added.

Iran has so far exported its nano products to Australia, China, South Korea, Malaysia, Turkey, Russia and several European countries.
