Vietnam's Foreign Trade Up 16.7 Percent in 8 Months

TEHRAN (ANA)- Vietnam posted a foreign trade record of 511.11 billion U.S. dollars in the first eight months of this year, up 16.7 percent year-on-year with a trade surplus of 19.07 billion dollars, the General Statistics Office said.

Specifically, the export revenue during the cited period stood at 265.09 billion dollars, up 15.8 percent, while the import revenue surged 17.7 percent year-on-year to 246.02 billion dollars.

The export revenue of Vietnam's industrial processing group reached 233.33 billion dollars from January to August, accounting for 88 percent of the total, according to the report.

China was Vietnam's largest import market for the cited period with turnover estimated at 92.3 billion dollars.
