The Iranian researchers believe that most of the people who have insufficient and limited health literacy were among the vulnerable group of the society (old age, low education level and low income); therefore, simple and targeted attention and education through health promotion programs or the media is recommended for this group to increase awareness and use health information.

The research showed that since the level of education of people is directly related to health literacy, it is necessary to cooperate with the public media, the education system, the health ministry, and the science ministry, stressing that the health programs of the government should be implemented with appropriate planning for all groups of society.

The results of the research showed that in general, to have a healthy and informed society, it is necessary to empower different groups, including the vulnerable, correct the training methods and identify the limitations and targeted planning to eliminate the discovered shortcomings to improve the health literacy of the society.

These findings are in the form of a scientific research article entitled ‘investigation of the level of health literacy of people who visit the specialist doctors  in Kermanshah’ prepared by Mahmoud Moradi (an Assistant Professor of the Department of Information Science and Epistemology, Faculty of Social Sciences, Razi University, Kermanshah) and Sara Bahraminia (a Ph.D. in Information Science and Epistemology, Faculty of Educational Sciences and Psychology, Payam Noor University of Mashhad) and published in the bimonthly magazine ‘Peyavard Salamat’. This publication belongs to Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
