Deputy Minister: IRICA's Revenues Surge by 46% in 11 Months
In the first 11 months of the current Iranian year (to end on March 19), IRICA's definitive income grew by 46%, Rezvanifar said.
He added that a total of 196,365 billion tomans were deposited into the treasury during this period, marking a substantial increase compared to the previous year. Import tax revenue alone exceeded 68,000 billion tomans (Iranian currency), showing a growth rate of 43%.
Furthermore, customs duties on various imported goods, including cars, mobile phones above $600, and revenue from 23 other categories, reached 103,853 billion tomans - a remarkable increase of 81% from the previous year.
In addition to these figures, Value Added Tax (VAT) collections also saw a notable uptick. The amount collected reached 92,512 billion tomans during the same period, reflecting a growth rate of 19%.
Rezvanifar had also announced in January that the country exported 101.904 million tons of non-oil goods valued at $36.43 billion during the first nine months of the current Persian calendar year (started on March 21).
Rezvanifar underlined that the nine-month non-oil exports indicates 26.48 percent growth in weight, but 0.68 percent fall in value, year on year, adding that the country's exports in the first nine months of this year, including oil, electricity, and technical and engineering services, and excluding the export via suitcase trade, reached $63.97 billion.
He put the value of the exports of oil at $26.46 billion, electricity at $300 million, and technical and engineering services at $780 million in the first nine months of the current year.
Rezvanifar also said that Iran has imported 28.7 million tons of goods worth over $48.4 billion in the first nine months of the current year, of which $60 million was the value of electricity import.
The nine-month import indicates a 12.29 percent rise in value and six percent growth in weight, year on year, he added.
The deputy economy minister also said that the imports of basic goods to the country reached 18.374 million tons in the first 9 months of the current year, valued at $12.116 billion.
"China with 10.3 billion dollars, Iraq with 6.9 billion dollars, the United Arab Emirates with 4.7 billion dollars, Turkey with 3.3 billion dollars, and India with 1.7 billion dollars are the five countries that have the most imports from Iran," Rezvanifar said, adding that the 5 countries that exported the most to Iran, included the UAE with $15 billion, China with $13.7 billion, Turkey with $5.3 billion, Germany with $1.6 billion, and India with $1.4 billion.
“During this period, 38.2 million tons of petrochemical products worth $15 billion were exported,” he added.
