Official: Iran 2nd Most Innovative Agricultural State in South, Central Asia
According to a report by the AREEO Public Relations Department, Mojtaba Khayyam Nekouei, the AREEO Chairman, said that his organization has adopted different constructive approaches, patterns and methods to accelerate the process of disseminating innovative technologies in the agricultural sector.
He described the “Productive Innovative Farms” as one of the main components of the country’s innovative ecosystem in line with the implementation of Article 5 of the bylaw on supporting knowledge-based and job-generation in the agricultural and natural resources field, further noting, “The productive innovative farms have been launched to create productive innovative farmers’ network using their potentials and capabilities to accelerate the process of transferring innovative technologies in the production fields.”
“Given the undeniable role of innovation and innovative technologies in promoting productivity in the agricultural sector, different countries in the world have prioritized supporting the innovative ecosystem to ensure the production, and use the innovative technologies in this area,” the AREEO chairman went on to say.
With regard to the role of innovative farms in the improvement of the country's agriculture, Khayyam Nekouei, who is also the deputy agriculture minister added, "The most important role of these farms is to accelerate the process of transferring and promoting knowledge and technology in agriculture with the approach of user participation, which is done through processes such as the absorption and localization of innovative technologies, dissemination of knowledge of innovative technologies among farmers, participation in the implementation of major plans of the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, participation in research, educational and promotion activities.”
