Mongolia to Boost Development of Tourism Sector in 2024
TEHRAN (ANA)- Mongolia will more vigorously develop its tourism sector under the official motto "Go Mongolia" in 2024, the country's Prime Minister Luvsannamsrai Oyun-Erdene said.
"In 2023, Mongolia has implemented policies to support tourism under the motto 'Welcome to Mongolia.' As a result, our country has received 650,000 foreign tourists and earned 1.2 billion U.S. dollars from the tourism sector, hitting an all-time high," Oyun-Erdene said in a statement.
In January 2023, 34 countries were granted visa-free entry to Mongolia for tourism purposes, increasing the number of visa-exempt countries to 61.
The Asian country has also declared 2023-2025 as "Years to Visit Mongolia." It has set a goal of welcoming at least 1 million foreign tourists in the coming years.
