Envoy: Saudi Arabia Ready to Increase Cooperation with Iran in Petrochemical Sector
Al-Anzi made the remarks during his visit to the pavilion of Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) at the 17th IranPlast International Exhibition.
He referred to areas in which Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) and NPC can cooperate with Iran, expressing hope that the two sides would hold talks on petrochemical projects.
The envoy said Iran has made great progress in petrochemical industry.
Meantime, during the visit, Morteza Shahmirzatee, the CEO of the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) and deputy oil minister, breifed the Saudi envoy about investment opportunities of Iran’s petrochemical industry.
Shahmirzayee said that Iran’s petrochemical industry enjoys suitable investment opportunities, adding that the NPC is ready to cooperate with the leading petrochemical companies of Saudi Arabia like SABIC.
Iran and Saudi Arabia, as two major regional powers, are home to giant oil and gas resources and can enhance their cooperation in this field, he stated.
Iran’s petrochemical industry has made valuable achievements, Shahmirzayee said, adding that it is on the development track and is ready to cooperate with the large Saudi Arabian firms like ARAMCO and SABIC.
The two countries have high potentials and capabilities in various fields, especially in the oil, gas and petrochemicals sectors, he said.
