Materials Exceed Equipment in Exports of Iran’s Nanotechnology Sector

Nanocoating, nanomaterials, and nanocomposites were the major fields of nanotechnology with the highest number of companies and the highest amount of export.

However, the least export was related to the field of equipment.

The surveys conducted on the volume of sales, exports, and the number of companies in the field of nanotechnology show that nanocoating has the largest number of companies in Iran, and the volume of exports of products related to this field is also more than other fields.

"Nanomaterial" and "Nanocomposite" are in second and third place, respectively, next to nanocoating in terms of the number of companies and the volume of exports.

Meanwhile, technologies and methods such as ultrasound, spectroscopy, imaging, and separation, which are in the subcategory of equipment, do not have a share in exports.

Besides, the number of active companies in these fields is also small.

In areas such as nanocatalysts and drug carriers, few companies have entered these areas despite the large market size.

The field of electrospinning has had an interesting history of activity, especially during the coronavirus pandemic.

Due to the market's need for masks, the sector has contributed greatly to improving the quality of society's health with its continuous activity and manufacturing of products needed by society.
