Iranian Technological Firm Produces Super Drinks from Herbal Plants
“One of the research fields of our company focuses on preparation of herbal plant extracts through the fermentation method.
Production of green tea extract through the fermentation of Kombucha (Manchurian mushroom) is one of our firm’s activities,” said Abbas Karimi, the manager of production department of the company.
He added that the green tea extract will remove non-useful substances by using the fermentation process, noting that the output of this process is vitamins B, D, antioxidants, amino acids and all substances needed by body.
Karimi underlined that the extract prepared through this method is considered as a super useful drink, saying, “Also, we added special extracts to this composition that are useful for reducing weight and settling kidney and liver problems.”
Iran ranks fourth in the world in the production of science in the field of traditional medicine, and the remarkable achievement will improve in the coming years, Nafiseh Hosseini Yekta, the director of the Health Ministry’s Persian medicine office, said.
There are 2,500 plant species with medicinal properties in Iran where hundreds of local companies and research centers cultivate, harvest, and process these plants to extract their essential oils and create novel medications from them, luring in international businesses which are seeking low-price, high-quality products.
