Iran exported 70.402 million tons of goods worth $32.368 billion in the same period, showing a 16% decline in weight, IRICA Spokesman Morteza Emadi said.

The official said that the value of Iran’s non-oil trade rose 10 percent during the mentioned period, as compared to the same eight months in the past year, adding that Iran traded 93.807 million tons of non-oil products worth $69.484 billion with other countries in the mentioned period.

Liquefied propane, methanol, liquefied butane, polyethylene, bitumen, urea, liquefied natural gas, iron and steel ingots, and light oils were the main exported products in the same period, he said.

Major export destinations of the Iranian non-oil goods were China, Iraq, the UAE, Turkey, and India, Emadi added.

Iran has also imported 23.405 million tons of non-oil commodities worth $37.116 billion in the first eight months of the current year, with a 15.25% growth in value and a 12.44-percent decrease in weight, year on year, he stated.

The first five data-x-items of goods imported into the country in the said period included corn, rice, wheat, soybeans, sunflower seed oil, cell phones, flour and unrefined sugar, Emadi said.

The UAE was the top exporter to Iran in the mentioned eight months, followed by China, Turkey, India, and Germany.

Iran's Customs Administration announced in September that the country’s non-oil exports to 15 neighboring countries had exceeded $10.7 billion during the first five months of the Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2022-August 22, 2022).

Iran’s non-oil trade with its neighbors has had remarkable growth in terms of value and weight during the mentioned period, it added.

Elaborating on the country’s foreign trade, the Customs Administration said that 25.398 million tons of Iranian commodities with the value of $10.723 billion were exported to the 15 neighboring states, which shows a 27 percent increase compared with the preceding year.

Iraq, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, and Azerbaijan are Iran’s first seven export destinations, followed by Russia, Turkmenistan, Armenia, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia.
