VP: 4,133 Female Managers Active in Iranian Knowledge-Based Firms

“Women constitute 40% of specialist physicians and 30% of subspecialist physicians,” Behrouz Azar said.
“56% of acceptances to the public universities are women in Iran, and their access to 784 technical and engineering fields has increased. Also, the share of women in the faculty of medical universities has reached 40% and 34% in other universities. Iranian women also comprise 24% of the world's inventors, surpassing the global average,” she added.
Referring to the progress of women in the field of information technology and entrepreneurship, Behrouz Azar said, “Today, women constitute 31.5% of activists in this field and have a significant contribution to the development of software programs, digital transformation, and creativity.”
“Their prominent presence in the management of startups, accelerators, and the management of more than 12,000 companies in various fields, and their active membership in the Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, reflects their key role in the country's economy,” she underlined.
Behrouz Azar had also announced in December that the country’s women have an 11% share of technological businesses in Iran which should increase.
“61% of Iranian women have entered universities, but their share in technological businesses is only 11%,” Behrouz Azar said.
She underlined that the government of Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian is making efforts to increase this share to 30% in 4 years.
“One of our challenges in this area is securing capital, and we hope that solutions will be found to address this challenge,” Behrouza Azar said.
