Iran-Made Nano-Based Kit Able to Detect Stomach Infection, Ulcers
Rapid detection kits for Helicobacter pylori antigen can qualitatively identify Helicobacter pylori surface antigens in stool samples by using anti-Helicobacter pylori antibodies with high sensitivity.
Due to its high sensitivity, low cost, and non-invasiveness, this method is used as a common and suitable method for diagnosis, follow-up treatment, or screening of individuals in the community.
Medical diagnostic laboratories, hospital laboratories, pharmacies, medical clinics, and ordinary people at home can use this nano kit. This kit is available in several medical centers in Iran.
In a relevant development in December, Iranian specialists at a knowledge-based company had also made and commercialized colon cancer detection kits which obviate the need for colonoscopy.
“Our company is a specialized producer of different rapid diagnosis kits like cardiac panel to diagnose heart attack, infectious panel to diagnose stomach infection, hepatitis and other infections,” said Hamed Baqeri, the managing director of Zist Tashkhish Sanjeh company.
Noting that the diagnosis kits produced by the company enjoy 90% accuracy, he said, “At present, colonoscopy is performed to diagnose colon cancer which is an invasive and expensive procedure and many people are not willing to do it.”
“With the help of this kit and with a simple stool sampling, it is possible to know whether a person has colon cancer or not, and if the result of the diagnostic kit is positive, the person will be sent for a colonoscopy,” Baqeri said.
He added that his company has so far produced 9 knowledge-based products that have entered the market under the title of Sanjeh brand and are used in pathology laboratories, hospitals, and health centers, stating, “Ten percent of the market is in our hands and this product (the colon cancer detection kit) has entered the market like other products.”
