Iranian Female Scientist Selected for BRICS Medical Field Competition

TEHRAN (ANA)- Marziyeh Ebrahimi, a senior member of Royan Research Institute and managing-director of a knowledge-based company in Iran, was selected for the title of the ‘women's accelerator in BRICS health care and medicine field’ competition with the idea of ​​establishing an immune cell bank to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases.

At the final ceremony of the competition, which was held in Moscow on October 17 to 20, 2024, Ebrahimi was introduced and appreciated as one of the chosen ones with a medical idea and a company with creative medical activity that has stepped on the path of sustainable development.

The competition is held with the aim of identifying and promoting the most efficient women's start-ups with business and innovation potential in the BRICS member countries and increasing their motivation with the prospect of expanding them to participate in entrepreneurial activities.

BRICS is an intergovernmental organization comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the United Arab Emirates. Originally identified to highlight investment opportunities, the grouping evolved into a geopolitical bloc, with their governments meeting annually at formal summits and coordinating multilateral policies since 2009.

Bilateral relations among BRICS are conducted mainly based on non-interference, equality and mutual benefit.
