Knowledge-Based Firm Produces Heart Rate Monitor Based on Traditional Iranian Medicine

“Palpation of the heart rate, specially the pulse of the radial artery on the lower inner surface of the forearm, was very important in ancient medicine and formed one of the bases of diagnosis. In other words, the heart rate is one of the vital and basic symptoms that doctors prefer in the first stage examination, take the patient's pulse personally and get the necessary information directly,” said Manouchehr Eqbal, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.

“In this design, a device has been implemented that performs the same measurement method of traditional medicine in a completely accurate and repeatable way using appropriate diagnostic sensors (including a number of force sensors, pressure sensors, optical sensors),” he added.

“At the same time, this device can be used for research in the field of non-invasive pulse evaluation based on the principles of traditional medicine,” Eqbal said.

“In this device, the purpose is to measure, record and analyze the condition of the wrist pulse based on the principles of Iranian medicine. Of course, at the same time, due to the presence of multiple sensors in this device, it is possible to measure other physiological parameters of the patient, including blood pressure,” he added.

Heart rate monitors are devices that can detect and track your heart or pulse rate continuously. Most of these devices are wearable, and many are highly accurate.

Heart rate monitors are very popular features in wearable devices like smartwatches and fitness trackers. Many of these devices also connect wirelessly to smartphones and computers. That allows users easy access to review their heart rate data.
