New Iran-Made Device Facilitates Quality Control of Autoclave Performance

TEHRAN (ANA)- The head of ‘Salamat Kar’ Innovation House of Islamic Azad University's Arak branch announced production of autoclave biological indicator by the center’s researchers which is applied for quality control of the autoclave device.

“This House has 111 technological products, of which 48 are licensed and 63 are unlicensed,” Vahid Najafi told ANA.

“The production of autoclave biological indicator is one of the latest activities of this center which is used for quality control of the autoclave device, and it has been produced by Satras Zist Fanavar Company with improved performance and a high quality level for users,” he added.

Najafi also noted that the production of ELISA kit to determine the amount of human thyroid hormones is one of the latest activities of the Innovation Center.

An autoclave is a machine that uses steam under pressure to kill harmful bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores on data-x-items that are placed inside a pressure vessel. The data-x-items are heated to an appropriate sterilization temperature for a given amount of time.

Autoclaves are also known as steam sterilizers, and are typically used for healthcare or industrial applications.
