“Our innovative product, using palm tree waste substrate, is a suitable and economical alternative to the traditional greenhouse called Coco Peat,” said Jamal Tajuddin, the vice chairman of the knowledge-based company in an interview with local Iranian media.

Explaining the advantages of the date-palm waste-based substrates, he said that while Coco Peat is an imported product and is very expensive, their innovative domestically-produced product is half the price of the foreign-produced substrate.

The managing director of the knowledge-based company stated that their product which is called Techno Peat is qualitatively more efficient than Coco Peat, adding, “This product can be used in hydroponic greenhouses, fertilizing seedling, roof garden, mushroom and snail farming, and in soil amendment in soil greenhouses.”

Tajuddin went on to underscore that their business has helped the local farmers and created jobs for the young people in under-developed areas.
