Islamic Azad University’s Researcher among Top 2 Percent of Global Scientists

TEHRAN (ANA)- The Vice-President of Research and Technology of Islamic Azad University’s Shahr-e Kord branch Farshid Kheiri announced that a scientist of this university is among the top 2% of the world scientists.

“The name of Nasir Landi, a student and researcher of this academic unit, was included in the list of two percent of the best scientists in the world,”Kheiri told ANA.

“According to the AD Scientific Index report, he was named the ninth best researcher of Shahr-e Kord branch and is the second best researcher in the field of medical, health and veterinary sciences of Islamic Azad University’s Shahr-e Kord branch in 2024,” he added.

Kheiri explained that the list of the top 2% scientists based on the international ranking of Stanford University researchers was presented by reviewing and evaluating the citations of the Scopus database and was published in October 2023 in the scientific database (Elsevier).

On October 26, Stanford University listed 1,870 Iranian researchers among the top 2 percent of the most-cited scientists in the world, which has grown significantly compared to past years.

In 2021, Iranian scientists published more than 77,000 scientific articles in the Scopus database, ranking 15th worldwide.

From 1996 to 2021, 715 researchers from Iran were listed, out of the total number of 195,506 international researchers.

The Webometrics Ranking of World Universities 2022 has ranked 694 Iranian institutions among 30,000 top universities across the world.

Also, 59 Iranian universities have been listed among the top 3,000 institutions in the world in terms of academic quality, according to the 2021-2022 report released by University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP).
