Iranian Knowledge-Based Firm Saves 91 Million US Dollars by Producing Rainbow Trout Feeds
"We started our work with the aim of meeting the serious need of the agricultural sector for high-quality feed for different kinds of farmed aquatic animals. After years of relentless efforts, our company has managed to produce diverse and high-quality products, which resulted in gaining a significant share of the domestic market and introducing this company to aquaculture farmers," Mohammad Reza Heidari, the managing director of the knowledge-based company said, according to a report by the website of Iranian Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.
He described producing feeds for rainbow trout as one of the research fields of their company, saying, "Rainbow trout feed is formulated and produced using the most advanced nutritional knowledge and technology in the world."
Heidari stated that high-quality raw materials are used in the production of the feed along with exclusive supplements and additives with extrusion technology.
Domestically produced feed has improved the production and quality of farmed trout," according to Heidari, adding, "This feed meets 60% of the country's needs."
Improving the microbial flora of the digestive system, improving immunity and increasing the resistance of fish against disease and stress, increasing the production efficiency and quality of fish in terms of nutritional value and appearance indicators are among the other salient properties of this locally-made feed.
The managing director of the knowledge-based company further said that domestically producing the fish feed saved the country over $91 million in less than a year last year.
