Iraq’s Sulaymaniyah Completes 50% of 145km Key Road Project

TEHRAN (ANA)- A half of the 145km main road project has been implemented in Sulaymaniyah, the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government said.

Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government has allocated 400 billion Iraqi dinars ($274 million) for the three-phase road project in Sulaymaniyah. The mega road project is currently 50% completed, the Iraqinews reported.

The first phase will be 34 kilometers long. The route, which will have four lanes and a total width of 100 meters, will have three overlapping bridges, seven junctions, and five tunnels. The first phase will include building a network of 110-meter-long electricity lines and 67 concrete ducts for road illumination.

Iraq has launched a massive project to expand and rehabilitate 400 km of roads that have been damaged by the terrorist groups and the western occupying forces in the past few years.

Work is being planned in Iraq for a series of road and bridge projects. The tender process has been planned for tenders for five projects to builds roads and bridges.
