Knowledge-Based Company in Iran Uses AI in Carpet Cleaning Industry
“The carpet cleaning industry has three stages of washing, draining and drying the carpet. We have managed to mechanize the entire process without the intervention of operator and manpower by using artificial intelligence,” Mohammad Reza Dehqan, the research and development (R&D) manager of the knowledge-based company, told ANA.
Noting that artificial intelligence technology is used in the equipment inside the smart carpet washing machine, he said, “One of the features of this machine is the advantage of frequency washing or the so-called vibration washing and the special brushes do not cause any damage to the texture, color and root of the carpet.”
“For professional and accurate carpet washing, it is necessary to recognize the texture of the carpet root. We have used artificial intelligence sensors to identify the root texture and how the brushes move, considering the sensitivities of each type of carpet. One of the problems that can be solved by this device is to observe and identify all the stains, fine and coarse dirt on the fabric and even inside the carpet roots,” Dehqan underlined.
A creative and innovative carpet house, named Behin Taj Honar, was inaugurated in the incubator center of Tehran’s University of Arts in November.
“In the Creative and Innovative Behin Taj House, startups active in creative and cultural industries are supported,” said Zahra Ahmadi, the head of Behin Taj Honar Creative and Innovative House.
"This means that the students are connected to the job market with the ideas they have in the field of carpets," she said, adding, “There is no priority for supporting and attracting the start-ups and the only condition is that they should work in the field of carpets and handicrafts.”
The inauguration ceremony of Behin Taj Honar house was held in the presence of the director of the secretariat and creative industries of the vice-presidency for science, technology and knowledge-based economy, an official of the creative and innovation houses, the secretary of the Iran Carpet Scientific Association, the head of the national center for the Iranian carpets and the managers of the National Carpet Center.
