Chemical Reactors Built in Iran to Produce Pharmaceutical Raw Materials
“This reactor is made of Pyrex glass in different volumes which is resistant to temperature and chemical solvents and is used for reactions like synthesis, polymerization, titration and distillation,” Khosro Malek Khosravi, the managing director of the knowledge-based company.
He described the simplicity and availability of components as one of the most important features of the reactor, and noted, “This device has a much lower price and more variety in volume and size than similar foreign samples.”
“Distillation and reflux in one device, using five different reactor volumes with one device, using two reactor heating methods with one device, easy washing of all components, using electronic and mechanical parts based on the European standards and vacuum maintenance are among the advantages of the device,” Malek Khosravi said.
He also announced the start of negotiations for the exports of the product.
In a relevant development in July, the second phase of a factory for making special reactors to produce chemical materials (glass-lined) was inaugurated in the presence of Mohammad Sadeq Khayyatian, the head Iran’s Innovation and Prosperity Fund.
Mostafa Jannati, the managing director of the knowledge-based company, elaborated on applications of the glass-lined reactors to perform sensitive and corrosive chemical reactions, and said, “These reactors are used in production of chemicals, including raw materials for medicine, certain petrochemicals, raw materials for detergents, and pesticides.”
“There are 10 countries in the world which produce the equipment, and Iran is the 11th country which is able to manufacture glass-lined reactors. Also, in the field of technical know-how, only four countries have the technical know-how of making such reactors, and Iran is the fifth country that enjoys such a technical know-how,” he said.
“In addition to fully supplying the domestic needs for these equipment, we have managed to export these reactors to several countries, including India, Russia, Turkey, and Turkmenistan,” Jannati stated.
