Iranian Knowledge-Based Company Produces Nano-Based Antibacterial Tanks
“Our company produces all types of polyethylene tanks and tubs by using nanotechnology, and the antibacterial tanks are also made by using nanotechnology,” Me’raj Nouri, one of the managers of the knowledge-based Tehran Polymer company, told ANA.
He explained that the surface in contact with water, which is a blue surface, is enriched with antibacterial substances, adding, “These tanks do not purify water but they prevent the creation and growth of bacterial algae in the tank; because aquatic environments are susceptible to the presence and growth of algae and bacteria, and antibacterial coating will prevent the growth of these algae and bacteria.”
Nouri underlined that the nano-based product has been commercialized.
In a relevant development in July, specialists at an Iranian nanotechnology company had also managed to produce antibacterial fabric used to make aircraft blanket.
‘Zarbaf Amin Textile Industries’ company produced the antibacterial aircraft blanket made of polyester and acrylic fabrics containing nanoparticles to kill bacteria and microbes.
The incorporation of nanoparticles into the fabric led to the emergence of antibacterial properties in the product.
The nano-based fabric can be used in making antibacterial blanket for airplanes which preserves its antibacterial activity after washing for 10 times and shows antibacterial activity before washing.
