Iran-made E-bike Unveiled at Islamic Azad University Exhibition
An electric bike is a green form of transportation that allows people to help the environment and get a workout at the same time. E-bikes are mounted with a small, rechargeable battery that helps riders travel faster and further.
Hossein Golkhandan, the inventor of the e-bike, told ANA that the electric bike resembles a trainer that encourages the cyclist to ride as much as possible.
He made the remarks on the sidelines of the Islamic Azad University's "second step of revolution" under the title of Asreh Omid Event.
In recent years, e-bikes have gained a special status thanks to the promotion of green transportation in cities, he said.
Considering that developed and developing countries have adopted an approach to expand clean transportation, electric bikes have become more popular to reduce traffic and air pollution, he explained.
“Everyone knows that after swimming, cycling is the most delightful sport. However, cycling requires great effort and very good physical fitness, especially on long distances and sloped roads,” Golkhandan who is a researcher at the Islamic Azad University, Fassa branch, went on to say.
Electric bikes are the same as regular bikes but they are equipped with electric assists, batteries, and controllers. They are arguably the best form of motorized transportation.
Asreh Omid Event was held in Tehran's Mosalla from May 29 to June 1, 2022.
It aimed to exhibit new achievements and products in the technological and innovation arenas in line with opening new windows towards strengthening the idea of creating ground for knowledge-based businesses at the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Islamic Azad University.
Some 3,000 knowledge-based companies, laboratories, research centers, and startups took part in Asreh Omid Event.
According to the Global Innovation Index (GII 2022) report, Iran is the second most innovative country in the Central and South Asian region and the third among countries with low to middle incomes.
With seven ranks of promotion compared to 2021, Iran has been ranked 53rd in the world, second in the Central and South Asian region, and third in countries with low to middle incomes, and for the second consecutive year, the innovation development rate is higher than expected.
