Iranian Engineers Produce Gadgets to Smartly Manage Vehicles Maintenance

Mehdi Golpaigani, managing director of an Iranian knowledge-based company said that he and his teammates in their company have developed a car gadget that offers services such as alarming the driver about any defects in the vehicle to reduce the car's maintainace costs.

“Our produced gadget called ‘Piod’ by connecting cars to the Internet, it provides valuable features to the cars. This gadget reduces the possibility of car breakdown by extracting data from the car's ECU using its practical features,” he said, according to a report by Vice Presidency for Science and Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy.

He considered the provision of tracking, alarm and detecting services at the same time as some of the services that the gadget offers, adding, “This product is compatible with all Iran-made and foreign-made cars and its installation does not affect the car’s performance at all.”

Noting that they have installed gadget's connectivity hardware on more than 2,400 vehciles in the country so far, Golpaigani added, “Knowing the condition of the car is one of the capabilities of this product, and by using it, the user can prevent the breakdown or damage to other parts of the car. It helps the driver to repair or replace the defective part. In addition to saving the cost of maintenance, this will reduce the repair time and increase the lifespan of the car.”

According to him, this gadget constantly sends the information from ECU to the server to be analyzed and as soon as it receives any information about defects and problems from the sensors it starts to analyze them."
